Cylinder head bolt is a critical engine fastener, for connecting cylinder head and cylinder block. It requires proper torque control during installation.
Cylinder head bolt is one of the core fasteners of the engine. It tightly clamps the cylinder head to the cylinder block to form a sealed combustion chamber.
During engine operation, the bolt bears continuous alternating dynamic loads from pressure and vibration. Any improper installation may lead to engine failure.
It must be installed with a torque wrench following the specified tightening torque and alternating order. Do not tighten by feeling.
This kind of bolt is prone to fatigue after long-time working. It needs careful inspection during engine overhaul. Replace it once deformation or crack is found. It is not recommended to reuse old bolts.
